Poly Water Tanks: Material Guide

Posted by Rod Judge on

At Waterneeds, we are your Sydney local poly (plastic) water tanks specialists. Not only do poly water tanks look great, but they’re lightweight, simple to install and easy to transport.

What Are They Made From?

Our extensive range of poly water tanks is made from food, temperature and volume safe plastics that are ready to start collecting rain water for your home or business.

Most of our urban range of water tanks are manufactured from a superior quality plastic called Rotathene®.

Rotathene® is a co-polymer based Linear Low Density Polyethylene resin (LLDPE) type plastic specifically designed for rotational moulding applications, such as rainwater tanks. It has high Environmental Stress Crack Resistance (ESCR), high chemical resistance, and is very tough and rigid.

A UV stabilising treatment is also a feature of Rotathene®, making the water tanks a perfect choice for outdoor use.

All our poly tanks are approved as food safe by Standards Australia.
